DescriptionDo 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade students need coping skills to calm emotions when feeling sad? This fun fortune teller craft and game is a unique way to teach them strategies they can use throughout their life. Kids love crafts and games and they're particularly useful when easing them back-to-school or giving them a brain break. This social-emotional learning activity will have them engaged for hours while improving the emotional wellbeing of students struggling to cope when they're feeling sad. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ TEACHER FEEDBACKI incorporated this resource during our mental awareness spirit week and students were able to learn about coping skills for when feeling sad. They really enjoyed these! - Sandra, 3rd GradeWith ideas to cheer themself up, kids learn to manage their emotions and cope when things don't go their way. Calm kids have better behavior and the ability to pay attention and learn. Print the ready-to-use outlined worksheets for students to color in or the colored fortune tellers if you want kids to use them in your calm down corner. They are the perfect addition to your counseling or classroom management kit. Students can also make their own from scratch using the blank template or use the Google Slides resources if you'd like them to practice digital skills. They can reference the Coping Strategies Poster if they're writing or typing in their own coping strategies before printing, coloring, and following the instructions to fold. I love this activity because it develops hand/eye coordination and spatial awareness as kids cut their worksheet into a square and fold it into a game. It also enhances problem-solving skills as they need to carefully follow directions to successfully complete the task. You can have students work on their own or collaboratively in pairs or groups to role-play different strategies to find which works best for them before writing them in their fortune teller.▶️ How to UseRead the included information about coping skills and discuss why they're important with your grade.Display the poster with coping strategies and read some of the ideas and discuss together. Ask students to share strategies that have worked for them in the past.If you want them to personalize a fortune teller, ask them to make a list of the strategies you discussed that feel right for them to include. You can also have students work in groups to role-play some strategies to try them out before adding them to their fortune teller. If you decide you'd like to work online, assign a copy of the Google Slides™ template for students to type in their strategies. When students have added their strategies to a digital (will need to be printed) or printed template, get them to color them in before they cut them out.Give students a copy of the folding instructions. You might like to have them work together to help one another with this part.Students can practice the coping skills on their fortune teller with a partner or in groups. It's a great idea to include one of the ready-to-print color fortune tellers in your calm down corner along with copies of the outlined poster for students to color while they're taking time out.Click here to follow my store and learn when I post new resources and freebies.▶️ This Resource Includes 3 print and use pre-colored fortune tellers3 outlined fortune tellers for students to color3 templates for writing personalized coping strategies1 blank template to get creative with Google Slides™ template with images for students or teachers to customize fortune tellers online2 worksheets with role-play activity1 color and outlined poster with 25 coping strategiesStudent Instructions for folding & useEducator guide & instructions* You will need Acrobat 7.0 or later - please contact me if you have an earlier version. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Save $$ on bundles:Kindness Best Sellers Bundle - 5 resourcesFriendship Activities Bundle - 7 resourcesBookmarks & Coloring Pages Bundle - 8 resourcesWellbeing & Mental Health Bundle - 5 resources••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Customer Tips:★ Did you know you can receive credit towards future TpT purchases by reviewing products.
